Hello and Welcome!
Being human can be so hard sometimes, and if you’re like most of us, there’s something in your life that is not quite as you would like it to be. Parts of yourself and your experience that may be painful. Whether you are feeling stuck, navigating a life or career transition, or seeking to deepen your understanding of yourself and your relationships, I see therapy as a powerful tool for meaningful change. I would be honored to support you in building a life you choose: one that is aligned with your strengths, values, and goals.
I’m Louann Fang Lucas, LMSW, JD. Under the supervision of Mary Lynn Marinucci, LCSW-S, MBA, I work with adults in individual, couples and group therapy in-person in Austin and virtual across Texas. As a former corporate lawyer in private practice for ten years, I understand the stresses and demands of a high-pressure law firm environment. I made a career change because I wanted my work to touch people’s lives in a more personal and meaningful way. In addition to my therapist training and education, I also have experience in a law firm setting coaching and mentoring new lawyers who are starting their careers.

Work with Me
While I welcome clients from all walks of life, based on my background, I have a particular passion for working with:
- Professionals and Career Therapy Seekers: This includes students, lawyers, corporate professionals, career changers, or anyone who is feeling stuck or seeking meaning and fulfillment in their career. I work with clients to process and heal from experiences of work-related trauma, job stress, burnout, imposter syndrome, depression, anxiety, and other issues around finding their way in their career path and what work life balance means to them.
- Asian American and Immigrant Communities: I have a special commitment to working with individuals from these communities to help navigate the unique challenges they face, including systemic injustices, micro-aggressions, identity issues and cultural dynamics within family and other relationships. I work with clients to process and heal from experiences of family conflict, relationship issues, depression, anxiety, and trauma.
I work collaboratively with clients to help them connect with deeper parts of themselves and uncover the inner knowings that make their behaviors and patterns make sense. I am especially drawn to experiential and existential therapy approaches because I believe real change often happens when we come into contact with these deeper parts of ourselves—especially the beliefs and perceptions that shape our reality but exist outside of our conscious awareness.
Love the Life You Choose
My work as a therapist is to walk alongside you and support you to choose the life you live with intention, and to love the life you choose. My goal is to offer the tools and support in therapy that empower you to step more fully into your wholeness, humanity, and power. As a fellow human, it is an honor to do this work and I’m deeply grateful to walk alongside you and bear witness to your pain, your joy, and your growth on this healing journey.
